Roses are beautiful flowers that adorn any garden and are a popular landscaping plant for gardens all around the world. There are about three hundred and fifty known species and hundreds of cultivars,although most are common garden roses. They range in height from one foot up to twelve feet.

Rose bushes are very attractive blooms,but not all roses are suitable to have growing in your yard as some are prone to disease and can spread their roots into the surrounding soil causing havoc to the environment. Roses are susceptible to black rot and diseases and other diseases that are caused by fungi. One type of fungus called Pythium which is anaerobic. This means it lives without oxygen and needs air. It spreads its spores through the plant and can also live within a flower blossom or on the bark. If you want a strong rose bush and are looking for a great ornamental rose plant that will bloom year after year,go for a sturdy rose bush.

To keep your plant roses strong,you need to provide proper lighting and watering. You also need to prune the plant regularly. The best way to prune the plant is not as hard as you might think. You need to cut the stem back slightly and then work the cut edges against the stem to break the fibres so that new growth can grow where the cuts were made. You can prune the branches of a rose bush by trimming back the leaves and branches that you don’t require. Pruning the rose bushes once or twice a year is essential to ensure they are healthy. If you are new to planting roses and don’t want to be in the garden for very long,go for a short sized bush and then prune it in spring and again in autumn.
